Is homeschooling legal in California? | top
Despite what you may hear your relatives or public officials saying, homeschooling is legal in California. In fact, we are blessed with a number of ways to homeschool and live within the law. In Sonoma County, we have a variety of choices including home study charter schools, public school independent study programs (ISPs), private independent study programs, and independent homeshooling (Private School Affidavit filers).

What is the Private School Affidavit? | top
The Private School Affidavit (formerly R-4) is a form private schools file to notify the state that they exist (if they have more than 6 students, they also get published in a directory of private schools). Homeschoolers file the Private School Affidavit to create a private school for their children. For more information, please go to one of the websites listed above.
